June Holt  June 22nd June 1936 – 22nd October 2022

It is with great sadness we have to announce the passing of Mrs June Holt co-founder of Holt Leisure Parks.

Born June Barton in Leigh Manchester she met and married Derek Holt in the late fifties.

June helped Derek with his dairy business in Bury before selling up and moving to The Cloch in Gourock where they established Cloch Caravans Holiday Park now owned by their middle daughter Christine.

Their first daughter Linda was born shortly after their arrival in Scotland in 1961, followed by Christine in 1963 with Sandra completing the family in 1966.

Along with Derek’s mother and father they developed The Cloch before founding Kip Marina in 1968.

She partnered him not only in life but also in business running the businesses and the family when he was building boats in Taiwan. They enjoyed that partnership until Derek’s death in 2010.

June always complained of a nomadic lifestyle, never settling too long in one place from Bury to The Cloch, then Lunderston, onto becoming “Lady Skibo” from 1982-89, Amberwood Hampshire, Isle of Gigha, Drumad Perth, Ruckmans Surrey, the 17th century London townhouses in Queen Anne’s Gate, and the three farms in Darling and Wellington South Africa.

June is survived by her three daughters, seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
